Infant and First Aid Essentials is a private 2 hour course to get you and up to 3 further people trained in the essentials of first aid for infants and children. This will take place in your own home for maximum comfort and convenience. Please note these courses are only offered for those within a 30 minute drive of Cirencester.
This is a great course for new or expectant parents and grandparents to feel confident should the unexpected ever occur.
What to Expect-
This course is delivered in your home, allowing you to learn in a familiar and comfortable setting. Sessions are informal, friendly, and tailored to your needs, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and build confidence at your own pace.
You are welcome to invite your partner, family members, or anyone who will be involved in your child’s care (up to a total of 4 people). Please enquire for larger groups.

During the session, we focus on the most important first aid skills for babies and young children, including:
How to respond to an unconscious baby or child
Infant and child CPR
What to do if a baby or child is choking
Managing fevers and febrile seizures
Responding to allergic reactions (including anaphylaxis)
Treating burns, bleeding, and head injuries
When and how to seek medical help

The session includes hands-on practice using training manikins, helping you develop the confidence to act in a real emergency. Everything is explained clearly and demonstrated step-by-step.
No prior knowledge is needed.

This course is designed to be practical and reassuring—not overwhelming. The aim is to give you the confidence to handle common emergencies involving babies and young children.
Delivered by a former Deputy Headteacher, the training combines professional expertise with a calm, approachable style that parents find both reassuring and easy to follow.

There’s plenty of time throughout the session to ask questions and discuss real-life scenarios. Many parents find this one of the most valuable parts of the course. You are always welcome to keep in touch with any questions that arise following the course.
